1) What was the task you were given? How does it fit with your Radio 1 learning?
We were given the task to create a podcast that follows the style and pattern of the Radio 1 Breakfast Show.
2) Who did you work with and how did you divide the research, planning, filming/recording responsibilities?
I worked with both Austin and Ollie when creating our podcast.
We took it in turns to research, plan and filming/recording ensuring we were all collaborating equally.
3) If you were to use it for revision would you have all the information you need for production and marketing? If not, what's missing? 4) How did you plan your sequence? I replicated the typical template of a Radio 1 podcast into my work and changed it to fit our information. 5) What research/prior knowledge did you use?
I used research into Radio 1's target audience and the layout of a typical podcast. 6) Upon reflection, what do you think of your interviews/games/order/news/music choices? How successful was it? I believe all elements were successfully uses, especially the game (Ed-ucation), because it was an original game including participation from the audience and celebrity endorsement. 6) What would you do to improve/do differently? I would focus more on the editing as it didn't fully include all editing skills to fit a radio 1 podcast. For example, i would play energetic and engaging music in the background. 7) What have you learnt from completing this task (groups skills, communication, compromise, using your initiative, creative input, production skills, editing etc) This has helped me develop a better understanding in other areas of music and what it is like when collaborating ideas around the media production process. 8) Looking ahead, how will this learning be significant/helpful in your practical or revision, learn anything new? Reinforced what you already knew?
It is has helped me have a concept for both practical and written side, so when it comes to revising I can apply both knowledge.
