9/11 presented through newspapers:

All presented the event in a serious manor, as hard news.

All have 9/11 as the lead story and amin image to reflecting the unexpectedness of the event.

All present it in a negative way not implying their political alignment in the matter.

- The Daily Telegraph - 'War on America' - aggressive headline making the reader feel a sense of fear and confusion

- The Daily Star - 'Is this the end of the world?' - rhetorical question making the reader panic

- The Times - '10.02 am September 11, 2001' - suggest this mark of the event and that it will never be forgotten. It only has this on the front cover with an image allowing the reader just to focus on 9/11. This minimalistic and plain layout doesn't follow typical conventions of their house style this reinforces how important/unexpected 9/11 was

- Daily News - It's war - capitalised in a sans serif bold font alerting the audience.

Trump presented through newspapers:

Can you identify any ways in which the Media Language (CLIFT) helps reinforce the representation?

- Metro -

- Independent -

- Daily Mirror -

Boris Johnson presented through newspapers:

Why do you think the Sun and the Mirror represent him in such different ways even though they’re both tabloids?

Which supports him?

How can you tell?

Why do you think the SCOTTISH SUN is so different to the Sun?

Compare the representation of the BLM movement

What are you starting to learn about the ideologies (beliefs) of the Daily Mail and Guardian?
